Driver Ed

The mission and purpose of the Dark Side Driver Ed program is to provide a safe, structured and controlled teaching and learning environment. The program is designed for participants to improve their driving abilities and acquire a better understanding of vehicle dynamics and driving safety. Participants will experience first-hand the capabilities of high performance automobiles in a controlled, closed-course environment and acquire skills that will enhance safer vehicle operation in all driving situations. Dark Side Driver Ed events are not racing, preparation for racing, nor a competition of any kind. No times or placings are recorded and no awards or prizes are received by the participants. Any conduct considered to be either unsafe or inconsistent with the spirit or purpose of the Driver Education Program will not be permitted.

Thursday
Track is closed. No drop offs. Sorry.
Friday
All Day: Open Practice Cars
Lapping Day Roebling Road Raceway’s open practice day. Minimum requirement: one full solo weekend at a PCA Driver Ed or equivalent at Roebling.

8:30 am • Drivers’ Meeting at the Tech Shed Time. Approx.
3 pm-5:45 pm • Tech at track, must wait for signal to be let in RRR will not open gate for drop off or tech before 3 pm.
6 pm • Hawthorn Suites Hospitality
7 pm • Tech at The Hawthorn Suites
7:30 pm • Instructors’ meeting (and social) at Hawthorn Suites

Saturday
7 am-8 am • Roebling Road Raceway Tech, Ralph Maggioni
Held at Roebling Road Raceway in the Tech area
Green students and first-time RRR park car at Grid for 8:20 run
7:05 am Registration at Concession Stand
8:00 am • CDI speaks to all drivers in the Tech area. Attendance is mandatory.
8:22 am • Orientation Run • Greens: After two laps please follow Bill Charlton to the Classroom at the trailer
12 Noon • Boys & Girls Club - Family Parade, please help and take one of the B&G children around the track.
1:00 pm • Bill Charlton speaks to Blue Run Group in classroom
5:15 pm • Dinner at the RRR concession stand
Sunday
8:00 am • CDI speaks to all drivers in the Tech area. Attendance is mandatory
8:30 am • First car on track
8:30 am • Bill, Classroom instructor meets Green Run Group in classroom area
11:00 am • Devotional - in the classroom trailer
11:00 am • Quiet time
12 Noon • Quiet time is over and it’s back to the track
End of Day • Drive home safely. See you at the next event!
